RAS가 자동으로 접속 종료하도록 설정할 수 있다. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services \RemoteAccess\Parameters\AutoDisconnect 은 REG_DWORD 형이며, 기본값은 20분이다. 문자열을 "0"으로 설정하면 아주 빠르게 접속해제된다. 만약 접속이 이 값보다 오래동안 비활성화된다면 접속해제된다. 클라이언트의 전화번호부를 편집할 때 클라이언트측 접속해제에대한 사용자 등록정보는 다음 레지스트리에 REG_DWORD 형으로 저장된다. HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\RAS Phonebook\IdleHangUpSeconds 그리고 로그온 등록정보는 HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\RAS Phonebook\IdleHangUpSeconds 에 저장된다. 원격 자동접속 관리자는 위의 기능에대해 실행되어야 한다.

DUN 클라이언트가 TCP/IP만을 사용해서 원격 네트웍을 가져올 수있도록 RAS를 설정하기위해

• DUN 클라이언트의 작업그룹/도메인 명은 웍격 네트웍과 같아야 한다(제어판/네트워크)
• 웍격 네트웍에 WINS를 설치한다(RAS 서버에 설치할 필요는 없다)
• DUN 클라이언트에대한 기본값을 사용한다(서버가 할당한 네임서버 주소).
• 만약 이것이 동작하지않으면 전화번호부내의 이름 서버 주소를 설정한다.
• 로그온시 전화접속 네트웍을 사용해서 로그온을 체크한다.
